Today I unveiled that I made a significant life decision – I plan on moving to Vietnam next year!
A couple of years ago I became an empty nester. Parents want to encourage their children to grow into independent adults – there was a time that I would count down the years until I turned 42! However, when it actually happened I found it bittersweet. Click here to read more about my blog on becoming an empty nester.
It’s hard letting go … I no longer feel needed by the chids who needed me for everything at one point. The calls don’t come as often as I like (and I get it, they’re out living their best lives too) but it really gave me pause to think – WHAT DO I WANT OUT OF MY LIFE AT THIS POINT? Not being connected to a significant other – the world is really my oyster ….

It was something that I pondered for some time – I started “thinking” about it in 2016 – mostly that I wanted to see the world and travel ALL over South East Asia and Indonesia.
Enter the Landmark Forum — I took it last Fall and within it, I created the possibility for myself to move to Vietnam – not some day nor one day (those days should never exist in your vocabulary) but I put an actual plan in place that I wanted to visit Vietnam and then create the possibility of moving there – this idea – the one that I thought I could never have was created within the Landmark Forum and throughout my Pathway to Commitment Course which I completed just this past January. I’ll write more about Landmark in another blog – but just know that you can have anything that you create for yourself …
So, today I made it official – I announced this:
Now, I start the planning:
- Where do I want to live?
- What do I want to do?
- How much money do I need for the year?
- Do I want to live in an ex pat community or something more local?
All of these amazing things to research and plan out over the next 12-14 months. I did it! I created the possibility and who I am is the possibility of having whatever I want in life – whether it be living somewhere, love, a different career. You are not your thoughts. You are the actions you take. 🙋🏼🌸
Where do you think I should settle for the first quarter of my year of living in Vietnam?
- Ha Noi? Hué? Nha Trang? Hoi An? Phu Quoc? Ha Long City? Da Nang? Da Lat? Mui Ne? Vung Tau?
Stay tuned ….
Namaste
