High Tea With Her Royal Highness?

Ditch the tea bag ….

Did you know that several tea ☕️ bag brands use polypropylene, a sealing plastic, to keep the tea bags from falling apart

If you’re eco-conscious ♻️ or even health conscious 💪🏻 and trying to cut down on single-use, man-made materials, you may not be aware that some tea bags actually contain plastic.

So, even when you put all your used tea bags in the food waste or compost heap, it can lead to plastic pollution, not all of it will be broken down.

Good to know, right?

Billion Dollar Plastics!

Billions of single use plastics make there way to the landfill, ground and water ways every single year 😢. ⁣

You can help by making one simple switch to a reusable bottle. ⁣

How many of you have chosen reusable over single use? ⁣

Hands up ✋🏼. ⁣

Which one is your fave?  Here at ECOtionally we love BottleWorx® (a premium line of stainless steel, double walled, vacuum insulated bottles. Guaranteed to keep COLD for 24 hours and HOT for 12).

Keep Your Trash To Yourself

On Saturday morning 🔆 the Anna Maersk container ship will dock at the Port of Vancouver’s terminal and unload 69 containers of trash after a weeks-long journey back from the Philippines.

After the Philippine gov’t declared war on Canada 🇨🇦 if it did not retrieve its cargo of trash, Metro Vancouver stepped up to quash the diplomatic row, offering to dispose of the garbage at its waste-to-energy facility in Burnaby, BC.

Most of the contents in those containers are actually recyclable ♻️ in B.C., where many companies would gladly take products to process on their own.

HOWEVER, because of how long it’s been sitting and travelling, officials say it will all be incinerated over fears of contamination ⚠️

We. Have. To. Do. Better‼️ Not even sure I understand why these countries accept “our” recycling when they clearly cannot contain or manage their own 😡

Think Before You Drink

Isn’t that insaneOnly about 10% of the water bottles we use actually get recycled ♻️

90% gets send to landfill❗️ That’s a craZy amount. It should really be reversed 😢

The best way to prevent this is to simply stop using plastic bottle all together. Consider using tap water or filtered water 💧

Dis you know that the slogan “reduce, reuse, recycle” is actually set up to use in that order?

I Dare You To Play Football Here

Check out this dump in #Delhi #India. It’s larger than 40 football fields together‼️

By 2020 it’s expected to be higher than 73 metres. It actually reached capacity in 2002 but no alternative has been found ⚠️.

2000 lbs still gets dumped here everyday. Residents around the site get ill regularly.⁣

(Shakes head) how much of this refuse didn’t even have to make it to the landfill in the first place 😢
